Default Fuel Pump Wiring Harness

Drove it to my parents place and it sorta chugged a time or two. Didn't think much of it. Wife said it was doing it more often. My mom got in it to pick up the kids from school and it wouldn't start.

Relay works. fuses good. Couldn't hear the pump running with the key in the on position. Feared the worst and bought a $170 pump. jack it up, took a look and noticed the wiring harness for the fuel pump had two severed wires 1/4 inch up from the plug-in. And one of those and another were all chewed up--sorta mangled. I don't get it. They don't rub on anything. It's driven most days and we live in a townhouse complex, so I wouldn't think mice. The tape that wraps around the wires is all shredded. I am baffled.

Now with that, I need a new wire harness/connector for the fuel pump. Where do I get one? I don't see a listing for one on Autozone ot RockAuto's website. Any ideas?

Oh yeah, it is a 2001 GrandCcaravan Sport, flex fuel, 3.3 as I recall. 2wd.

Mice or Rats. You could cut the wires and splice new wires in place of the old wires. Or if you want, Send me the last 9 of the vin and I can check on a mopar part number.

Thanks for the response. Its parked at my parents place right now with the rear end in the air I will get that vin info for you asap. Yeah, must have been mice or something. I would not normally hesitate to splice the wires, but one of them is cut about 3/16" from the connector and the other about 1/2". One that is connected has busted and crimped insulation about 3/16" up from the connector as well.

... or head to a salvage yard snip one off and splice/solder it on your harness.
