96 Caravan 3.3 352000 Km It has developed what can best be described as a tap in the top end
thing is it comes and goes it's quiet when you first start it and while driving it comes and
goes seems more prevalent during slow speed driving or just coming off the highway but it will
generally always stop .
Thought at first i had the broken rocker pedestal problem but i have no other symptoms no
misfire and the thing runs like a top other than the random tapping gas mileage is unchanged
power is real good.

Ideas ?

 

I believe you know the problem. The rear rocker pedestal has been a problem, the only way you will know is taking the valve covers off and pull the rocker shafts. Sometimes you will get a misfire code. Other times it will run fine.

 

I was actually afraid it would be that was hoping it would be something else though . Well soon as i get some free time ill have to tear into it and see. Thanks .
