Default 2008 Town and Country 4.0L Rough idle

Hi,

I have a 2008 town and country limited 4.0L and I am suffering from

- Rough idle, its not horrible but you can feel it in the steering wheel.

- Hard shift 2-3 and sometimes 3-4, it has 61TE.

I appreciate your input

I got your PM...

The 4.0L had the same problems with valves that the engine it was based off of did...the 3.5L. Need to do a compression test and also the timing of the timing belt needs to be rechecked. The data (cam/crank difference in degrees) can be read with a scan tool to see it. But, the camshaft that's not read by the cam sensor can also still be out and the data won't reveal it, but usually the adaptives for each bank will show enough evidence to take the timing cover off and look.

About the trans, I'm not a transmission guy. I purposely avoid tthem. I stay busy enough doing electrical and drivability. There could be a software update available though.

MasterTech is a trans guy though (:

Default symptoms of valve problems

Forgot to ask, is there any other signs of the valve problem?
