[5th Gen : 08+]: 2008 Town and Country 4.0L Rough idle
Hi,
I have a 2008 town and country limited 4.0L and I am suffering from
- Rough idle, its not horrible but you can feel it in the steering wheel.
- Hard shift 2-3 and sometimes 3-4, it has 61TE.

Current mileage 103K and did the following at the dealership with mopar parts
- Front and rear engine mounts.
- Transmission oil change and filter not a flush.
- Spark plugs, water pump, timing belt, accessory belt, EGR valve
- Radiator flush.

The 4.0L had the same problems with valves that the engine it was based off of did...the 3.5L. Need to do a compression test and also the timing of the timing belt needs to be rechecked. The data (cam/crank difference in degrees) can be read with a scan tool to see it. But, the camshaft that's not read by the cam sensor can also still be out and the data won't reveal it, but usually the adaptives for each bank will show enough evidence to take the timing cover off and look.
About the trans, I'm not a transmission guy. I purposely avoid tthem. I stay busy enough doing electrical and drivability. There could be a software update available though.
