Default What size torx 4 caliber removal

06 disc pads front and back, guess that means teves brakes. anyone tell me what size torx or hex/allen wrench needed to remover caliber. i only have 50 torx and that is too large.

i tried 7mm hex also, appears bit of play. Thanks for any help.

If you're talking rear calipers, it is 7mm.

thanks tizzy. i was the front calibers i was speaking of. i was just mentioning that the front and back are both pads.

i did insert my 7mm hex within the hole and it appeared to grip when turned but just appeared to have play when i move it back and fourth. didn't want to bear down on it and strip it. that is why i would like to know.

So do you believe it is a 7mm? also the metal brake line gives me just a bit of room.

Front shouldn't be hex from the factory. If they are, they have been replaced by aftermarket bolts.

The factory set up is a 13mm head bolt.

Thanks Tizzy for finding out.

That is interesting because the 2006 van bought had only 55000miles on it 3 years ago. all 4 calibers are the same. they all have slots/holes to place hex or torx within the size of which i did not know. i imagine there is no difference between usa and canadian. mine is usa. and when i inquired yesterday at aa1 auto parts, 5/16th hex was the answer.

thanks again for telling me what the originals were.

I was just looking in the haynes book for the 2006 caravan and the photo on a picture described as a Teves caliber looks like it requires a slotted tool, like hex or torx. However the TRW brake in the picture is a bolted head to remove the torx. Thoughts?

I have the 06, got under a friends 07 today. his front brake guide pins also have a place to enter a hex or torx in it and not a bolt head. i believe the 06 and 07 are the same.

so maybe its a hex maybe a torx. leaning toward torx because my 7mm allen doesn't fit.
