[4th Gen : 01-07]: 2005 caravan se 4 cylinder wont start
How do?
My 2005 carvan 4cylinder will not start. When I turn the key on, I can hear the hum of the fuel pump. I am not getting any fuel to the rail. I tried to spray some carb cleaner in the throttle body(with the flapper open) and still couldnt get it to start temporailly. Is there a fuel pressure sensor that disables the ignition circuit? I didnt check for spark yet, have to do that after work. Could it be a false reading on gas gauge. Its reading a little over quarter tank. I did have low oil at first. After topping it off, it still didnt start but it is turning over. I almost bought a fuel pump but when it didnt start with the carb cleaner I got stumped. Any suggestions. I dont have a code reader, the engine fault light is on. Thanks.

Thank you for the reply. The only thing in regards to the ASD relay is I can hear the pump humming when I turn the key on, but no fuel is pumping to the rail. If it was the ASD, would the pump still get energized when I turn the key on?
I checked for spark, have spark. Still no fuel to the rail. Can hear pump humming. Hooked up a reader, found no codes. The oil light and engine fault light are on. Have plenty of gas and oil. Is there anything to consider besides fuel pump?
I sprayed starter fluid in the throttle body and still couldnt get it started. I noticed a weak cranck, even with a full charge on the battery. Since it was an 8 year old battery, I figured, replace it then start troubleshooting all over again. After replacing the battery and alot of cranking to get it to turn over, she fired up. I let it warm up with a little throttle. Then it shutoff but I was able to start it up and all the fault lights were gone. Its running good now. It was an old weak battery. Still dont know why I wasnt getting fuel to the rail. Maybe not enough power to the pump. The pump was running though, even with the weak battery.
