Default 05 With Locks and Door Problems

Power locks stop working, pull the IOT fuse and reset it and works for a while. Used to last months now the working time is shorter all the time. When it doesn't work neither the remote or internal lock switches work. After resetting the fuse switches and remote work but not for long.

The rear hatch lock always works fine with remote or switches.

I have sliding doors issues too probably unrelated but posted just in case. Driver side slider works as it's supposed to with buttons or remote. The passenger slider doesn't work with either remote or any buttons.

My primary concern is getting the door locks to function as I consider this a security issue for my wife who drives the car.

Thanks

Disconnect the negative battery cable then disconnect the BCM connections (on firewall above to left of brake pedal) and inspect. Clean by reconnecting and disconnecting several times. If you see heavy corrosion use electrical contact cleaner. If that doesn't fix it you most likely need a new BCM. A shops DRBIII scanner will troubleshoot it best.

Sliding door? Inspect the wire harness at the bottom of the door for damaged wires. A known problem area.
