Question Over fill of Engine Oil 2013 GC SXT

OK..so I purchased a 2013 GC SXT with 32000, didn't trust used car dealer on engine oil change so I changed to Mobil 1 5w 20 Synthetic.

Pour in 6 qts as specified...Dip stick now shows ABOVE safe line.

Is there an easy way to sphion off 16 ozs (I'm guessing) from the filler tube, with out have to pull the ramps on and draining back out. (I did also chg. the oil filter as well)? Thanks

If the level shows just above the safe line. You are okay, don't worry. Before you changed the oil, did you remove the filter first. Because the filter will have some oil left in the filter. The factory recommend to remove the filter first and leave it out until you have drain the engine oil. Then install the new filter. And add the oil to the engine.

Default thanks

I did remove the oil filter 1st, but I replaced the new filter while the oil was draining out of the pan.

did you possibly check the dipstick before starting the engine for the first time, after the oil change? If so, it will read very high because the filter will be empty. I always fill my oil filters before installing them to avoid momentary oil starvation upon startup.
