Default 05 dodge grand caravan died while driving

i have an 05 dodge grand caravan. i was driving it today and it was fine all morning and then i went to get on the highway got to almost 70 mph turned cruise control on cruised for about 30 seconds and died (engine quit running, gauges quit operating, didnt even register gear selection) it was almost like i turned the key to the off position. i got out popped the hood looked around didnt see anything wrong shut the hood got back in turned the key and everything worked fine. also it produced no engine codes.

Previous repairs to the van are, altenator (produced ac volts), new body ground, radiator, oil pan gasket, brakes. i still have to do the power steering system.

im at a loss because im not sure exactly where to start looking.

thanks,

Its hard to say, But you may have had a total Buss failure. Try to have all the modules scan for codes, that may give you some Ideal.

Tough when it's running fine and all is well. When it died was there any indication of power anywhere like dash lights, turn sigs etc.? Did you see the red immobilizer light on or check engine light? Could be the engine immobilizer triggered. There's a lot of could be's though.

If you have nothing to go on I would start looking at the IPM and it's connections. It has a history of corrosion problems causing all sorts of electrical gremlins. Inspect connections on the bottom for corrosion or damage. If you're game disassemble it and verify internal circuit boards look clean. Might try a wiggle/tap test to induce the problem.

no there was no indication of any failures i set cruise it ran for a moment then i felt it kick off cruise then i looked at the dash and it had nothing on it at all. the hazzards worked radio worked everything worked like it would with the key in the on not run position. im gonna ask my teacher at uti on what he might think and maybe borrow the modis for a bit.
