Default Power steering goes out when you hit standing water (2003 3.3 Grand Caravan Sport)

I see a fix from Gates for earlier models, but not this generation.

If we hit a sizable amount of standing water that splashes up, power steering goes out as the belt slips. If your trying to turn when it goes out, you better hope that no one else is around.

Just drove home in fairly heavy rain tonight, and power steering went out no less than a dozen times.

Yup, older models have special kits. Your belt tensioner may be getting weak. Myself and others have had good luck with Goodyear "gator" belts.

Replaced the tensioner a month ago actually, as was creating some power steering type noise. I will see if our shop can dig up a correct sized gator belt and try that. Thanks.
