'02 Harmonic Balancer :: Puller Question...
Vehicle: 2002 Dodge Caravan SE (3.3L V6)
The mechanic stated i needed a new Harmonic Balancer so i ordered one with a new serpentine belt. I looked up some videos and wanted to do this job myself.
I do have the Service Manual but it calls for the following Special Tools:
* For removal: Jaw Puller #1026-3, Insert # 6827-A
* For reinstall: M12-1.75 x 150mm bolt, washer, and thrust bearing from special tool # 6792 (Sprocket Installer?)
PartSource says they do not rent Harmonic Balancer removal kits but i did see a couple over at Princess Auto. My concern is the kits being sold do NOT have jaw pullers (they seem to be bolts that screw into the balancer and then you screw the center to pull it out). Will these alternate kits be fine for removal of my balancer?
