Default Iphone Control with Factory Radio

Hi all, I have Grand Caravan 2008 SXT, The factory radio installed is the RES high speed as it was explained to me here in other thread and it looks just like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/07-08-09-2010-11-12-CHRYSLER-300-DODGE-JEEP-Patriot-Radio-MP3-CD-Player-AUX-RES-/121250815349?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c3b1c9d75&vxp=mtrI wanted to be able to skip tracks on my iphone with the original radio using the steering wheel, I found http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-iPad-iPhone-iPod-Adapter-Radio-Interface-Aux-Input-/220782131117?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3ADodge&hash=item3367a3f7ad&vxp=mtr on ebay and was wondering if it works with RES radios. Note that I'm not interested in bluetooth/microphone/serius...etc just wanted to control the iphone, any help appreciated.

Since I couldn't find a cheap adapter for the grand caravan's stock radio to control my iphone, I'm going with the AppRadio 3 for around $300 and Axxess AWSC adapter to keep steering wheel control, It is just dumb to pay $200 plus for uconnect adapter and even dumber to upgrade to a factory touch screen for over a $1000 and yet not even close to what AppRadio 3 offers.

I would of just got an FM transmitter and BT controlled audio app for the phone for 0.5/3 the cost, but that's just me.. That would also work on ANY other audio system, even a stock radio on classic car..

No for FM transmitters, most of my music collection is in FLAC format, why would I bottle neck it thru a crappy FM transmitter, I already have aux input on the stock radio sounds better but still getting static from iphone communication with towers.

AppRadio 3 has uses conversion and compression over the BlueTooth audio profile.. A 12V BT adapter with USB and line-in is another cheaper solution.

Another solution is a DIN unit with USB and line-in on the face-plate..

None of this stuff is audiophile grade. They all use compression on a hardware codec first in the main chip audio bus then usually on a secondary codec..

Not sure why FM modulation over a one-foot distance is an issue in comparison..

AppRadio and stock radio that offer iphone/ipod controls usualy read the memory or the hard drive directly as they have D/A circuitery in them just like reading CD/DVD, they don't use analog output of the iphone/ipod, and that's why I'm going that route, I will be using a permanently hardwired iphone dock that connects to the radio via USB/HDMI third party cable, So before start driving I just dock the iphone and all the controls will be from the aftermarket radio screen.
