[4th Gen : 01-07]: 2005 G Caravan SXT Rubber squeeking noise with Weight bearing
When I turn the van to the left, the front driver's side area squeaks like robber on rubber. The sound is coming directly behind the hub and only occurs while supporting weight. If I jack the front end up...no noise. It only occurs while turning to the left. Please advise...
On my old 1999, it was the hub bearing. I tried everything else, pads, rotor, backing plate.
Quick fix, somewhat temporary is to tighten down the axle nut more. This squeezes the bearing and will generally stop the noise - worked on mine.
It will help if you need to wait to get the bearing replaced. We just didn't have the $$ at the time.
