Default 2002 GC Ignition Key Sentry Replacment Question

Had my van broken into and a theft attempt made.
They ruined my key sentry SKREEM module, key tumbler and the cast housing that holds it.

I have a used column with the components I need and will pull them off for my Van.

Question, How is the van's security system going to see this?
But will the Skeem module toss a curve into the works. The column coming is in tact with a key. Hopefully I will be able to program it to work.

Just looking ahead of what I am getting iinto.

FYI, A SKEEM and Key housing are very expensive new. I'm getting the column for $75.00. My interior is blue, the one coming is grey, it was difficult to find one for my config, No radio controls, no traction controls, to name two and more. If push came to shove I can put my wheel and plastics on it but.............. going to try the small parts first.

You Can't re-use the Skim, it is mated with the PCM for life. You need a New skim and requires the dealer to program it.

Does it do the functions of key sentry and key-less entry?

yes it is. it does control the Keyless entry as well as transponder key.
The Key Housing, you can take it apart and re-code it to your old key, But SKIM module, you need a new one.

OK, Thanks. Stealership wants $75.00 to program a $115.00 module. Ugh!

Here's what you do: Open your own shop. Pay for insurance, workers comp, worker benefits, technician cost, rent, heat, A/C.... and then charge $25 for programming With plumbers charing $110/hour, you're getting a bargain at $75
