[4th Gen : 01-07]: 2003 dodge grand caravan, transmission
I have a 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan for the last month or so its not shifting when its supposed to I get to about 3000 rpms before shifting and it takes forever to get speed up and when I do get to about 35 mph or more it shudders, I have changed the shift solenoid and just this past wkend the transmission filter I am at wits end I love my van but cant afford to put a 1,000 into it Please any help?
I would head to a shop and have them check for transmission specific codes and read the Clutch Volume Index (CVI) numbers. They can also apply pressures at the test ports to test shift points etc.
Using only ATF+4 fluid? PRNDL indication ok? Any problems with the speedometer? If so, try a new output speed sensor. Tranny and speedo use it as a reference.
