Really, Ive been doin it for ten years, aint ever had a problem. I actually just did it in my 98 ram, My brother showed me how to test it with a multimeter and then I showed him my way! Although I havent ever owned anything newer then 2001. (Not that changes anything that you said, but i meant to say negative, not positive)
