Ok so I want to change my fuel filter but I'm new to the mechanic thing and I was told changing the fuel filter isn't too hard so I figured I would try it myself. Can someone on here help me through the steps? I have 96 Grand Caravan. Thanks

 

Hello there, I have had to replace my fuel filter on my 1997 caravan twice. First of all disconnect the negative battery cable then lift car up and place jack stands to support it. You will have to relaease the pressure in the fuel line otherwise you will get fuel all over you. do this by taking a rag and putting it under the fuel rail in the engine to catch the excess fuel. then you would need to take the fuel line disconnect tools available at your nearest parts store. then unbolt the filter and reinstall the new filter in the reverse order making sure to attach the ground strap back where it belongs. you would need to cycle the fuel pump by turning the key to run to get the fuel to start flowing again. Depending on how high you jack the car up you might have to lower the fuel tank also.
