I bought this 97 Caravan wth a whole load of tools in it,which I sold. The van's transmission is no good it wont run. I need to move it by towing and have lost the key. I got in with my slim jim,but now need to unlock the steering so I can get it up on a car hauling trailer to take it to the scrap yard. I can open the hood ,even remove the steering wheel, but dont know how to unlock the steering wheel so it can be steered. Can I drill out the ignition switch where the key goes? It doesnt matter if I wreck something because the van is never going to be driven again.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Get together your proof of ownership, something with the VIN on it like your registration or insurance card and your drivers license.
Take it to the dealership parts dept. and they can cut a regular key by the VIN #

well towing company put it on the dollies and tow it to the scrap. I think like mentioned with suppling the right documents to prove the vehicle belongs to you.
