Default 110V outlet keeps blowing fuse

I just bought a 2011 Grand Caravan Express. It has the 110V outlet with the button on the console to turn it on. It wasn't working when I bought the van and the previous owner said it would just be a blown fuse to fix it. I looked for the fuse and it was M5 25A. I replaced it with a new fuse and it was immediately blown. I never saw the light come on the button for even and instant. Obviously there is more wrong than the fuse. I am thinking it could be a faulty inverter. Does anyone know where it is located in the van? Is it behind the outlet in the drivers side next to the sliding door? I'd appreciate any help as I haven't been able to find much on this with searches.

Anyone know if the inverter is covered in the 3 year warranty in Canada?

Thanks,
Brendin

I found the inverter. I needed to take off the panel on the inside rear on the drivers side. The inverter is above the rear drivers wheel. The inverter has a connector with 6 wires in it. I believe that 2 of them are the +12V feed. 2 of them are the 115VAC and the other 2 go to the switch on the dash. I unplugged the cable and put a good fuse back in. I measured 12V at the connector. I suspect my inverter is toast. I just wonder if it will be covered under warranty?

You can ask the dealer, But since its a 2011 vehicle. It maybe out of basic warranty.

It's still under the 3 year warranty until Oct 2014.

Will it matter if I leave the panel off? ie: will they use that as an excuse not to cover it for warranty?
