[4th Gen : 01-07]: makes slight slipping sound when shift from 1-2, but no hesitation felt
My van is an 04 grand caravan with only 110k miles. It makes a slight slip sound, as if a belt is slipping for a moment, when it shifts at low gear, however, I do not feel any hesitation. It drives and shifts perfectly fine, its just making that noise. Not sure what it could be, or if it is anything at all. Anybody have any ideas?
Just out of curiosity, has the fluid and filter ever been changed in 110 miles? Not saying that is your problem, but I like to make sure that I replace the fluid and filter at least at 100K. It seems to hold off problems. If you are doing frequent stop and go, then the fluid should be replaced every 50-60K.
The solenoid packs have a tendency to get noisy. Making kind of a slip/buzzing sound on gear changes, you will only hear it on the 1-2, 2-1 shifts due to road noise/vehicle speed, most make the same noise shifting into reverse. They were also very common to fail.
