I own a 2002 Dodge Caravan. It has been parked for a few months and now the rear wheels dont turn when i drive forward or reverse. Also the E-brake pedal doesnt depress down.

I have to assume this is all due to rust. What is the best approach to getting these rear wheels to turn again and the E-brake cable to behave properly again.

Drums or disks? At any rate, remove the wheels and remove the drums/calipers and lube everything up real good. (not the pads/shoes themselves obviously)

 

A bent axle, e-brake, and dry or seized hub can only cause this. Frozen calipers and bad brakes can't overcome the FWD pull. Lube stuff

The back-end of these are pretty simple, just axle, leaf springs, brakes, and ABS sensors if enabled. No independent suspension and drive system etc..

 

It is drum brakes. I will jack it up and use a sledge hammer to remove the hub and then lube as suggested.

 

Count on warped drums if you are serious....
