Question gauges in the inst panel

ok so i have a '96 dodge caravan LE 3.8 L and the speedometer , tach, temp and fuel gauges as well as the odometer and gear indicators are not functioning. checked fuses replaced spent fuses and have been going thru minor fixes . took inst cluster off and checked soldering points for bad solders there were some going to recheck for some possibly missed also have been told to check hvac stuff and that the bcm is possibly the culprit. i have read the battery could also give us a problem. and the buss could be acting up also.
are there any links or photos some where i need good clear photos as i have diminishing eyesight.

please help as i am tired of not knowing how much gasoline i have or my water temp. ( have my tom tom to help with speed atm)

having a very similar problem....as the more I look, the more I see how common this is.

So my father has a 1999 Grand Caravan Sport. It has no tach, speedometer, fuel, temp, odometer, or gear selection on the cluster. Everything up top (abs, turn signals, and other dummy lights work) are working properly.

I've done what seems like days of reading, and I came across a technician that was willing to give me his advice....and after several attempts to remedy the problem, with little success (I'll get to that in a min), this is where I am.

So here's what I've tried
- smacked the dash......just because someone said to (really technical).........nothing
- pulled the IOD fuse.......nothing
- disconnected the battery cables and touched together......nothing
- soldered the ground pin and searched for other cracked solders on the cluster.....nothing.
- tried another cluster......nothing
- unplugged the BCM......nothing
- changed the BCM with a junk yard replacement (same part number)........gauges came back.......for a little bit.

I am now at a point where the gauges come on, but after a few minutes, the ABS light comes on, and the cluster shuts down....sometimes the ABS light will shut down and the gauges will come back....but they never stay on.

I'm completely perplexed. After doing all of this, I threw on my generic OBD2 scanner, and I got a code. P1698, which seems generic to me. It says PCM Fault, no ccd messages from TCM conditions.

What's my next move? Change TCM? Does it have anything to do with the ABS light coming on? ABS module? (I only ask about the ABS mod because that happened on my volvo).

Any help is greatly appreciated

All these Problems can be generated by body control module (BCM) under the fuse block by brake pedal. Control of wipers, some lighting, A/C-Heat and locks also goes thru this.
