[4th Gen : 01-07]: Inner Tie Rod Plastic Spacer??????
#4
If anyone else does this repair; Chrysler sells the spacer with the OEM inner tie rods. If you buy after market, you will probably not get the spacer.
I have reused mine, not my first choice, as I would have rather replaced it with a new spacer. I have been unable to determine the risk associated with this choice.
Lastly; I rented this tool, not sure who makes it. It does not fit the Dodge 1 3/8 inner tie rod. Unfortunately I can not upload a picture, but they are popular on Ebay. Here is one link - http://www.ebay.com/itm/3pc-Inner-Ti...-/391286286133
This tool will work. It is called Lisle 45750 Inner Tie Rod Tool, and is rebranded by others. Napa sells a version. HOWEVER, YOU MUST GET THE 1 3/8 ADAPTER. It does not always come with the 1 3/8 crow foot. The 1 3/8 crowfoot can be purchases separately on Amazon, and it comes with some kits (not the Napa version).
Hope this help people doing the same.
