Default Sourcing a particular part for the reat wiper motor

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum, and to auto mechanic stuff, so pardon my ignorance of a few things.

So, a few weeks ago my rear wiper began having a few problems, getting gradually worse to the point where I always needed to push it a bit so it would start its cycle.

This weekend I got a bit of free time, so I had a look at it. Long story short, it turns out that the main plastic gear inside the wiper motor was stripped (looks consistent with my symptoms). Anyone know where I can source this part? All auto parts stores around me want to sell me the whole motor assembly (about 100-150$), when the only broken part is this plastic gear (should be at most 30$).

Here is a picture of the (reassembled) motor, and the gear in question beside it:

I'm in Canada, by the way.

No one that I know of makes pieces for those. Might be able to contact Valeo and see if they can help.

You'll find that's the case with many parts on any car. The only option is buy the whole unit. Some scrounge junk yards.
