Default 2010 dodge grand caravan ac stops blowing when driving for over 4 hours

Hi, I was on a long road trip the past weekened, my ac just stopped blowing

I can hear the fan on nothing coming through the vents. if I stop for about an hour or so and then leave again it starts working. I was thinking it was my blower resister...but doesn't seem to happen on just high

Chrysler dealer is thinking it may be a wire heating up but they couldn't get the van to stop working after having the van on for 2 hours.

any suggestions or thoughts about this?
last year I was leaking water inside the van that was fixed and my blower was replaced.

The thread jkeaton linked to would be a good place to start. I would suggest reviewing that and mentioning it to your dealership. How often has this been happening?

Hi, this only started about a week ago I can hear the fan on, but nothing is coming through the vents. I didn't think it was the resistor since I was told the if the resistor is the issue it will blow on high speed just not on any other speed. If I pull over and let the van cool down for about 30m-60 mins it will work again for a while. I was going to replace the resistor and then do a long road trip just to see if that is the issue since its a relatively inexpensive part to replace.

If you do end up doing that, please keep us posted on how everything goes! Unfortunately there don't seem to be any TSB's that could be related to this symptom.

Hi, Just wanted to update this thread, the issue got worse the root cause was the rear AC evaporator was leaking and freezing up. the replacement was about 1000 CAD but since then its been working ok

Thanks for the follow-up post. I, for one, was curious about the cause.
