My van started overheating, I found that the fan was bad, I replaced it, and now that works. Now the temp gage is all over the place with intermittent heat. I ran it with the radiator cap open and squeezed the top hose a few times, made sure radiator was full, and was good for 2 days. Now it's back to overheating because the gage won't always show its up to temp. Any ideas?

 

Did it overheat bad enough to blow a head gasket?

 

I don't really know, oIL looKS good, not seeing anything coming out.

Water pump or thermostat come to mind with the intermittent heat and temp gauge issue.
