I went to the market today and after parking, I remembered I had to get something out of the back, so I unlocked the liftgate and then realized that there was no way to lock it again, without opening a front door and using the power lock button.

This seems very stupid to me. Is there any way to get the lock to work outside the car? The locks are automatic but no key fob control.

You can lock the Liftgate with the key, If you have a key cylinder in the Liftgate. Or you can buy a remote if you have that function in the body control module.
