Default 2009 GC SXT 4.0 Instrument Cluster Lights

Howdy - my 2009 instrument cluster lights stopped working. I can't see my speed at night when the lights are on. The speedometer, tach, etc, all still work. The bulbs under the gauges work too. I read it may be the electroluminescent foil that has failed. Has anyone had this problem and how did you fix it? FYI - I did check that the dimmer is all the way on. Thanks!

The bulbs should still be replaceable.

The bulbs are LEDS and they're soldered in place. Must replace with a rebuilt unit. But check all fuses, terminals and grounds before condemning the cluster. Here's a wiring diagram

Get one soldered in. You do NOT want a Chrysler reman cluster. Trust me.

Thanks for the info! I'll check the fuses, etc., tonight. I do have a cluster on hold at a salvage yard just in case. If it goes that route I'll have to figure out how to get at it. I bet there's a youtube vid around.

If you can find a step by step for the R03 recall, it will take you to the cluster.

I just picked up the replacement cluster from the salvage yard. It is the cluster for a 2009 town and country, not a grand caravan. The guy told me it will work with my GC, just look different. I'm guessing it will be fine, as long as my wife doesn't mind the change in appearance. Does anyone have any advice or experience as to whether it will work or not? Thanks!

Update: it turns out I need part 05172462ad. I'm trying to find a used one, but it looks like I may have to get it from the dealer because they have to program it

There is no programming cluster by dealer.

Try here www.car-part.com and do a search.

I just replaced the instrument cluster and have lights again. The mileage is wrong so I have to get that fixed somehow. Anyone have any suggestions where I should take it?
