It IS the channel. They're not fun to do.

Default Sliding Door Cable Thread

I am guessing the motor for the cable is behind the channel....does anyone have an instructional video on re threading the cable? Can the sliding door hang off the top bracket only or should it be supporting....I'm guessing I can support it with jack stands while I disable the bottom bracket and remove the channel????

I wouldn't let it hang without some sort of support under the door and a helper to hang around and make sure it doesn't fall. The unit comes with the cable, motor and sliding door module all included ONE assembly.

I just had to replace the passenger side motor assembly after the cable broke where it attached to the door. I was surprised to find it was pretty easy to replace. I only bought item #20.
