Default Plug hanging from bottom

I had some work done on my '05 Grand Caravan SXT recently (oil pan gasket. valve cover gasket, and sway bar links). Today I hear a knocking noise under the van so, I looked under to investigate. There is a plug hanging underneath that keeps banging around. Any idea what it is or where it goes? The van seems to operate normally without it plugged in. Thanks.

That's definitely an odd looking plug. If you could post some additional info about the location where it's hanging down that would help. Plus if you could unwrap the covering on the wires and post how many wires are going to the connector and the wire colors that would help even more.

I'll be able to check colors tomorrow in the daylight. The plug goes to a black box behind the battery/under the brake fluid reservoir.

I found this photo online. It looks like it goes to this box.

I'm pretty sure that box is the vacuum chamber for the speed/cruise control. So if the other end of this plug is connected to that box, then the plug may be for a vacuum line not an electrical connection.

Does your van have speed/cruise control? Is it working?

Yeah, I used the cruise control today and it worked well. The tail lights and such are also working.

Do you have an engine block heater? This might be the end that plugs into the heater element that's installed in the engine block.
