Howdy - my '09 GC started staying in 2nd gear. I'm not sure, but it seems to happen if the traction control is on. We had a big snow here over the weekend and driving around on the slippery roads causes the traction control to kick in, but it also seems to keep the car in 2nd gear. It doesn't seem to do it when I turn traction control off. Does anyone have any idea what might be happening and what I should do about it? If it's a transmission problem I should be covered by the lifetime powertrain warranty. Thanks!

 

It may not be relevant to your situation, but I had a Gen4 that would not shift out of 2nd and it was the Solenoid pack on the tranny. It was giving a trans code that led me to that conclusion
