Default 2014 Grand Caravan shift into 4

Ever since purchasing my 2014 Grand Caravan last summer, I've noticed that shifting into 4th gear is always "soft." What I mean by that is that when going into 4th, I can see the tachometer slowly come down. All other shifts are normal. I find it kind of strange. Put on 9000 miles last summer after just buying it with no issues other than the shift into 4th (and shuddering when backing up a hill, which apparently is a common issue. Is this a shifting behavior that many of the Caravans exhibit?

I just figured something today. When the transmission is cold, shifting into 4th is a normal shift. I went down the road a ways and started off in 1st gear. Sure enough, the abnormally with shifting into 4th had returned. So, from what I can see, it has something to do with the fluid when it warms up. There’s no dipstick, so I can’t even check the level. I wonder if I should consider changing the fluid. I suppose that would require dropping the pan, as there’s probably no drain plug. And then, how do you check the level as your filling? And where do you fill. Is there some cap that is removable?
