Default No dials or dash lights. OR all dash lights ??

Hello,

I have a 2005 Grand Caravan and yesterday I washed it and used a hose pipe to rinse it off.

This morning my wife set off and she found none of the dials worked, (rev counter, speedo etc.) and all the dash lights were on. At the same time the headlights come on when the ignition is on even though the switch is in the off position. The fog lights don't work either. I disconnected the battery until I could look at it this afternoon.

I googled the problem and people were saying bad earths were to blame. I have had the battery box out and cleaned the earth wire under there and checked the one on the drivers door pillar and that is tight.

Now when I connect the battery and open the door nothing is there and when I first turn the ignition key there is just nothing on the dash. Sometimes part of the lights work and the dials and sometimes everything. One time the trip meter said 356.3 and the main odometer said 0 ??!!

On the roof console at the front there is a green LED that I have never seen before lit and nothing works there either, I can't even change from Miles to Kilometres.

I am assuming the main computer has been fried but just want to ask to see if anyone else has had the same problem and can help if there is a fix.

Any help would be appreciated.

131 views and no replies, I am assuming no one has had this problem before.

Do you mean you washed the engine bay? Water intrusion in the TIPM can definitely cause the erratic issues you’re seeing.
