Default 2009 GC - both side doors quit working at the same time ...

Hello, First time poster here!

I had unloaded my van at a craft fair. Left the sliding side doors and rear hatch open for a short time. Came out and shut all 3 doors from the key fob. Cranked the van and moved to a parking spot. Set up my table taking about 2 hours. Left the church and went to Kroger. When I came out, I unlocked the van and used the key fob to open the passenger sliding door. It would open a bare fraction of an inch and then close and make a clicking sound for a moment. I tried the drivers side sliding door. It opened a fraction of an inch and it closed itself as well. However, it did not make a clicking sound. The rear hatch works fine.

I am stumped. The sliding doors will not open from the key fob, from inside the van or by pulling the door handles.

Any ideas?

Tal

Dodge issued 1 recall and 1 TSB regarding the power sliding doors. You may not be experiencing either of the issues described, but that doesn't mean your problem isn't somehow related.

The recall - NHTSA #10v235000 - is in regard to a problem with the wiring harness being rubbed through by the lower bracket, causing a fire hazard.

The bulletin - #08-021-10 - is in regard to a flash update for the power sliding door module in which the module won't allow the doors to open with the key fob.

You should at least call a dealer with the VIN and ask them if these problems (or any other active recalls) have been addressed on your van.

Both sliding door modules are on the same fuse. One of the wiring harnesses is shorting to the body somewhere and blowing it. Don't replace that fuse until you find the short. J11 or J03 in fuse box.

K14 is the Recall number

Thank you for the replies.

Both doors started working yesterday. A guy simply pulled on the door handles (which I had done before - go figure) and they opened.

I don't understand it but I just thank the Lord that they work now!

Again, thank you for your responses.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Both power sliding doors on buddy's GC quit working at same time after launching boat. Fuses check out fine. Could be actuators? Location of such is where? Thanks in advance for input.
