[5th Gen : 08+]: Sliding Door Rattling Noise.
Just wondering if any of you experienced or are experiencing rattling noises coming from your sliding doors when driving over rough surfaces. Unfortunately my van just started doing this after the harsh road conditions and extreme pot holes of winter. I've used white lithium grease which seem to work for short while then I've read that some people have taped the strike plates with electrical tape which also works but don't last long term till you have to replace the tape. I was looking for a more permanent fix so I bought a can of Plasti Dip rubberize coating for tools which come in different colors red, yellow, blue and black. I cleaned all the strike plates of grease for both sliding doors brushed on 4 light coats of rubberized coating allow 1/2 hrs drying time between each coats and a curing time of 4 hrs after the final coat. Now my van has no more rattling sound coming from the sliding doors no matter how rough the road or bad the bumps are it's been over a month since I've done this still no rattles yet.
We're sorry to hear you're experiencing this rattle. If you end up going into the dealer for an official inspection, let us know if you need an additional layer of assistance.

The first thing I would check is the rear shocks bushings these vans are known to have cheap shocks and the bushings wear out quickly causing rattling as sound travel it's hard to pin point the source but that the first thing I would look at.
The door noise fluctuates with the temperature outside.

Try this, On the sliding doors. Open the door and see the guide strut on the door. You should have two screws, I think they are torques. You could remove it or add anti-size for now and see if the sound goes away. If it does. I believe there was a bulletin for the problem.
Thanks for this tip. I have a 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan SE Premium Plus that I recently picked up. It only has 50k miles on it and the rattle has just started and is driving me nuts. It happens when driving slow on my gravel driveway or a bumpy road. My brake guy just did some brake work and said the ball joints and everything looks good up front.. I want to find this noise real bad.
