2006 dodge grand caravan, wont leave 2nd gear. ive heard this is an issue with a sensor going bad, but im not too sure. im waiting for an OBDII reader to come in the mail, but any advice in the meantime is appreciated.

 

Is it shifting between 1st and 2nd or it’s stuck in 2nd all the time? Do you have reverse? If it has manual shift controls, have you tried using them?

 

I had this issue and it was the solenoid pack on the out side of the transmission. Replaced it and all was fine. Parts store wanted almost $300 foir the part, shopped Amazon and it was less than a $100 delivered...……… make sure you clean the area thoroughly before you remove the old one
