94 Passenger side cv axle replacement advice
Hey all, I have a 94 grand caravan fwd, with the 3.3. I want to replace the front passenger side cv axle. Seems like there are a lot of resources for the drivers side but less for passenger. The passenger is the longer of the two. Before I give it a shot, is there anything to know ahead? Will fluid leak from the tranny when I pull it out? What's the best way to get maximum swing? (Direction of tires, or removing strut vs ball joint ect) Any little hardware that's prone to need replacing? Or any other heads up before I immobilize myself by pulling a axle off haha. So if anyone has done this on this van or a similar one I'd appreciate the advice.
Thanks for the help guys

1. Yes you will lose some fluid, have a quart of ATF+4 ready to top it off.
2. I generally unbolt the strut as it gives more swing to get the axle out, but removing the ball joint will keep from messing up your alignment. So you'll have to decide whether you want to do an alignment after or not.
Otherwise it's pretty straight forward: Remove tire, Break loose axle nut, Remove brakes, disconnect strut/ball joint, turn wheel all the way to the right to give more clearance, remove axle. To reinstall is the opposite. Ensure you hear the axle "click" into the trans and ensure you torque the axle nut to 180 ft-lbs.

I own a 1994, 1992, and have owned 2 other 90s vans.
