[General]: Dodge Caravan wont start when cold ..
I may not be doing this right but Im gonna ask because we are absolutely lost. We replaced the Electric throttle body in my van. Light went off on the dash but it still wont start. It tries to crank but doesnt fire. However if we spray starter fluid in it, it will start right up and run fine. Please help . I need a reliable way to get my babies around .
According to this, "My Car Doesn't Run and How to Fix it" thread, you have bad gas.
Here's the thread: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/g...d-first-30792/
Notice step 5 if you want to skip to the answer. Did you fill up somewhere out of town recently, or was the van sitting?
EDIT Never mind, I misread your statement. I thought the van only ran on starter fluid.

@jkeaton it had just stopped and the light that looked like a lighting bolt with a line thru it came on. Got the book out and it said bad throttle body so we replaced it. But its doing the exact same thing. If you can get it to crank it runs perfect. And it will crank about every 4th try . I have a video of what its doing but idk how to share that . I can try to figure it out .

Also, to clear up potential confusion, is the engine cranking every time you turn the key, or are you getting a click but no crank (or nothing at all) on some attempts?
First thing did you have your van scan for error codes today vehicle are electronically controlled and monitored by an ECM in order for any type of indication or warning light to come on a fault or error occurred within that system. ETC is more complex than just the throttle body there's other sensor incorporated in that system. In the OBD II that error is now stored in the memory and can only be erased with a scan tool. I would suggest if you didn't already have your van scan with a pro series scanner to see what codes can be pulled out. Usually an ETC light won't stop an engine from starting it may run erratically or just at idle speed. Seem like there's more than just a throttle body issue in your case.
