The odometer is a dedicated circuit within the ECM and is not affected by battery disconnect in any shape or form for the obvious reason to prevent fraudulent readings especially for resale value. The odometer reading are stored in the ECM when a battery is disconnected or changed out upon reconnection of power the odometer is designed to display the actual stored information. You've mention that word TRIP was illuminated in odometer display cluster so it show that display is powered. You'll have to get it scan in order to see if there's a communication issue with the odometer circuit.

 

I have the exact same issues. The turn signal warning chime comes on and the mileage won't display. Did you ever find a solution ?

 

No. I traded it in for a 2018 model that is also giving me a headache.I am on a second transmission now
