this is benjya58 in Atlanta Ga. hello to all on the forum.
I am having a problem with my Odometer since i changed my alternator. The word "TRIP" only lights up , no numbers show in the gauge. Also when i am making a left or right turn at 15mph and above the turn signal starts chiming as if it has stayed on for too long. it stops when i go below 15 mph
please help

So did it successfully complete the self test or is it not responding at all?
Have you checked fuses?
Fuse 24 (20A) in the engine bay fuse box (integrated power module) is the main supply for the cluster. Some of the lighting functions are controlled by the BCM which is also powered by fuse 24 but also has feeds from fuse 19 (40A) and fuse 14 (20A).
The instrument cluster grounds at G200 - it’ll be just above or behind the kick panel on the driver side. Inspect for corrosion, clean if needed and check that the wiring isn’t damaged at the crimp.

You’ll have to verify power and ground feeds at the instrument cluster connectors - verifying the fuses are good doesn’t rule out the wiring between the fuse panel and the cluster. If the power and grounds check out, either the cluster is bad or there’s an issue with the data or BCM control circuits. At that point it would be helpful to have a shop verify communication with the cluster (basic code readers available at stores aren’t capable of reading live communication data) - if it is communicating, that would shift the focus towards the BCM as it controls the cluster lighting, left and right turn indicators and the chime.
The wiring diagram for the cluster is below - it’s only half - the other half shows the BCM side. Verify power and grounds at the cluster connector - jumping them with a test light should work - the key doesn’t have to be on.
