Default M15 Fuse - "Assy-Shifter (Hall Effect)"

The fuse box diagram for my 2011 Grand Caravan lists "Assy-Shifter (Hall Effect)" as one of the things protected by the M15 fuse. What exactly is that?

It’s the shifter lever assembly in the cabin. “Hall Effect” refers to how it operates to tell the PCM which gear is being selected.
