[1st Gen : 84-90]: Hard time finding parts
Trying to help out my sister, she is the original owner of a 1990 4cylinder manual transmission caravan, and it needs some work. I am striking out finding parts locally and would like to find an online source that can get me the right part the first time. For starters the brake caliper guide pin bushings are gone, single guide pin, 14inch wheels, needs motor mounts, and a shift cable. The local Napa store sent stuff that is supposed to fit but just doesn't. Is there an online, obsolete vendor that has quality stuff? Thanks!
A little leary about ordering from rock auto, looks like they list the same wrong parts as the local guys have been sending,. Haven't found a listing for a shifter cable either. or at least not one for a 1990 manual trans, found one for a 96 grand caravan manual trans, end bushing looks the same, any idea if that will work? I know sometimes due to lack of demand all early listings get deleted, and even if it's the same part for a newer version it wont say. Anyone try the "universal bushing' that I see online? Might just make one myself. Just needed the guidepin bushing for the front calipers, just has one guide pin, not two, got sent the wrong ones twice, now have calipers on order, hope my luck is better with those.
