I can't comment on Royal Purple because I've never use it simply because the guy I use for a mechanic is castrol dealer and has oil in bulk tanks where he can offer better deal on oil changes he use to use Wix filters but lately he changed to Purolator filters.
There's 2 guys that had that complained about Royal Purple one is a mechanic who now uses Amsoil so maybe he's just promoting Amsoil the other is someone who is kind of negligent anyways so maybe whenever he check his oil it's actually that dirty.
