[5th Gen : 08+]: Weird sound from (transmission) in reverse
Hi all,
I’m new to the forum, but that’s because I got my first Dodge caravan. It’s a 2017 with 30,000 kms(18,700 miles) on it.
It makes the weirdest sound from what sounds like coming from the transmission when I put it in REVERSE (ONLY makes the noise on a cold start after sitting overnight) I provided a 10 second video of the sound and wanted to know if anyone has heard this specific chirping sound?
—by the way it shifts gears nicely and no problems with driveability. Had the fluid level checked and it’s good

You've got a 5 years 100,000 km Powertrain warranty on your Grand Caravan you're well within that period bring it to a dealer let them figure it out. Plus if it's caused by a defect they have it on file for future references.

I am having the same issue. two weeks ago I bought a Certified-Pre Owned 2017 Dodge Caravan wth 37,000 KM on it from the dealership. When I start it in the morning and put it in REVERSE it makes a weird noise almost like a grinding/chirping. This only happening when i start it cold. If I drive to the store and then park when I come back out and put it in reverse I do not hear it.
