Default Under engine splash shield?

Hi all.

I bought a 2017 dodge caravan and noticed there is no engine splash shield covering the engine/transmission area. Are they supposed to have one of those under the engine area? Or was that an optional aftermarket item to buy?

Also no shield in the left front driver side wheel well leaving the side of the transmission exposed. Is this normal or is there supposed to be a plastic cover there too?

If anyone has a picture of theirs to give me an example that would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

worst case scenario is I’ll just fabricate my own from some corrugated plastic sign board but wanted to check to see what the norm is from the factory

No cover on this side of front wheel well by the transmission

There are supposed to be splash shields. You can probably get them cheap from a junk yard. If you don't replace them you will get grime on cables, hoses, wires, and metal causing early corrosion and problems that will be hard to hunt down. I would do them ASAP before road salt gets in there.

Fender Splash Shield, Front Left Part number is 5113095AC (for 2018 SE Plus but probably for you too)

Fender Splash Shield, Front Right Part number is 5113094AD (for 2018 SE Plus but probably for you too)

According to Mopar Parts the 2017 Grand Caravan didn't come equipped with the belly pan, front left or right splash pan. The only thing it shows is the Accessory Drive Shield.
The last model years to come equipped with belly and splash shields was 2016 the 2017, 2018 or 2019 didn't come with Chrysler must of made the belly pan and splash shields redundant..

So is it your belief that the dealership attached these parts after it left the factory the dealership actually drilled the holes too? I think you need to recheck your information because when I was buying in 2018 100% of the Vans all had splash pans in both wheel wells. As for a skid plate this isn't an off-road vehicle I don't know why it would have such a thing.

WTF are talking about skid plates? Heck these weren't installed at the dealership they came from the manufacturer installed these are just underbody plastic splash shields held on with plastic push pins. The parts you listed are the inner fender splash trims what he's looking for are the underbody splash shields. Unfortunately in 2017 apparently Dodge stop putting these on. Prior Dodge has a underbody belly pan left and right splash guard along with the drive belt splash guard. After 2017 only the drive belt splash guard was installed. Here a link that show the underbody splash guards for the Grand Caravan. https://www.moparpartsinc.com/p/Dodg...5113271AB.html

Whatever you choose to call them I said that they weren't on there. The ones up in the front fenders however are on there and you said that they weren't installed after 2016 or 2017. But I know that not to be a fact because in the end of 2018 I was shopping at Grand Caravan and 100% of them had the fender guards. So that means that either you're wrong and they were installed at the factory or that the dealer installed them. I'm just trying to let the OP know that it's some point somebody removed them, it's not true that they weren't there.

Well I certainly hope so name me one car manufacturer that doesn't have any inner fenders I've been buying vehicles for over 45 years everyone had inner fender splash guards. The OP was asking if there was an underbody belly pan that covered the engine and transmission on the Dodge Grand Caravan. Mine has the left and right side belly pans along with the accessory drive belt splash panel. My car has a full underbody belly pan everytime I get an oil change they need to take it off to access the drain plug and oil filter. Grand Caravan models younger than 2016 on has only the accessory drive belt splash panel.

Oh okay, I misunderstood. I thought you were saying there were no Fender liners which as you can imagine sounds absurd :-) . Sorry
