[5th Gen : 08+]: 2019 Caravan GT Clock Spring Replacement
Hello!
Hoping to find some answers here.
I've ran into an issue several months back where the steering wheel clock spring on my 2019 Grand Caravan GT seems to have gone out.
None of the buttons on the steering wheel function, with the exception of cruise control. The horn does not work - but it does honk when locking the car via key fob.
Also, heated steering wheel function does not work - the light will illuminate on the console, but goes out after a few seconds.
Additionally no interior lights come on either.
At first, I thought this may be a simple fuse related issue, but upon further research on forums like this, every sign seems to point to my steering wheel clock spring.
The van was purchased from Enterprise Car Sales and this issue is not covered under warranty. My TX vehicle inspection is due next month and won't pass without an operable horn.
My question is - I've found 2 versions of the clock spring for sale online. One for about $59 without the extra black cable for heated steering wheel. The other for $288 WITH the heated steering wheel wire.
If I choose to go the cheaper route, can I just opt out of having a heated steering wheel and save $200+ dollars?
Or does anyone think that not having that connected could be an issue?
Thanks in advance!!!!!!
