Pentastar 3.6l rod bearings question and torque specs.
Hi guys, recently bought 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan, 139k miles, bought with ticking noise in the engine.
At first it sounded like top of the engine, so I took valve covers and replaced one of the bad rocker arms.
Now the tick is at the bottom, around the middle of the engine, cylinders 3 or 4.
Took off oil pan, oil pump and got to the rod bearings.
#1 rod has signs of overheating, bad bearings, and a really small crankshaft scoring.
#2 and #3 flawless,
#4 so far is the worst, don't have signs of being overheated but the actual bearing is completely worn out. Small crankshaft scoring as well.
Didn't take #5 and #6 yet, since the first four are down want to replace these first and then go further.
Question is, who's working on those engines, is it even worth throwing new rod bearings at this point? Crankshaft doesn't look severely damaged or anything, just a small scoring marks.
Also, can someone provide torque specs for:
Rod bearing caps - 2*11mm bolts each Oil guide plate - 8*10mm
Oil pump - 4*10mm
Oil pump gear - T45 torx boltMain oil pan - bunch of 13mm bolts all around and 2 10mm bolts inside flywheel housing, also 4 15mm bolts on the side of transmissionSecondary (smaller) oil pan - 10mm bolts and 2*10mm nuts
P.S. Just to make sure, there's no gaskets on both oil pans, correct? Just a gasket maker?
Attached photos of #1 bad, #2 and #3 good, #4 bad bearings.
