[4th Gen : 01-07]: 06 Grand Caravan SXT 3.8 will not start
Our 2006 Grand Caravan cut out while driving. Cranks beautifully. Had it towed to house.
It started next day twice then quit again. Cranks strongly.
Pulled intake boot and gave the old girl a shot of start fluid and she fired right up and purred for about 10 seconds. Repeated with same result.
Next I lay by fuel tank and listened for fuel pump when key is turned. I hear it come on.
Not quite sure where to take it from here as am not to familiar with the fuel system on this.
I can’t see it being injectors as IMO it would not be all at once and should at least run rough.
That leaves the tank to the fuel rail.
I’m thinking pressure test at intake next?
The other question I have is this is driven by my teenage daughter who runs it on fumes most of the time. She has run out of gas on occasion.
My other thought is that although the pump appears to come on could the consistent running with low fuel have damaged it. Or could she have sucked tank debris and clogged the filter?
Any insights greatly appreciated.
