[2nd Gen : 91-95]: No crank no start
I have 95 Caravan 3.0 6cyl, that won't crank/start. Battery is good. All lights, radio, & wipers wrk. Starter relay came back good. Hooked up a remote starter switch, but still didn't start. Starter motor spun but the bendex didn't engage. Haven't tested any other relays or checked the ignition switch yet. Any solutions?
I'm thinking to just pull the starter and bench test it .... do auto parts store still test them?
The Bendix needs to move forward to engage the flywheel. If your starter is spinning but engine is not .... the bendex is not working .... switch and relays are fine.
If it has been working fine then just started sticking and not working .... probably just worn out and starter needs rebuilt.
If the vehicle has been sitting for awhile .... possible it is just gummed up and if you pull the starter you might be able to work on it .... get it cleaned up and oiled and manually move it around.
Either way it needs to come out. I have a 1993 Caravan with the 3.3 V6. Mine is easy to get to (I think) It is right in the front ..... I just cant remember if the motor mount needs to come out or not .... if it does then just support the engine with a jack and 3 bolts to remove it .... then 2 bolts for the starter ... 2 wires going to the starter. It's out.
Again that is for a 3.3, I imagine the 3.0 is going to be similar.

I would try turning the engine over by hand to make sure you don't have a motor locked up, If the motor rotates then check your power and grounds. I have seen a bad battery cable from the battery to the starter. Using a DVOM to check voltage drop at the starter or power probe/ test lamp to see if you are losing voltage. 3.0L engine starters you may need to remove a bracket.
