How bad is this?
My wife's friend has a new 05 Caravan.. One evening while they were both
in the van driving to another town, the head lights shut off. The driver turnes
the switch on and off a few times and they stay on. They no more and
continue down the road and the lights go off again. This time they turn the van
around and head back home and the ONLY way to get ANY headlights at all
was she had to hold the high beam switch half way in. Needless to say they
were getting high beam flashes from everyone coming twords them. They
made it back home ok and took a GM car to the town insted.
Next day, owners take the van to the dealership. They keep it for the day.
Owner comes to pick it up and dealership tells them; "It didn't act up for them."
Now nether owner wants to drive the new van at night!!!
I *think* most of us know what is acting up with the van. It's the CTM unit!!!
I also *think* I read somewhere that DC is/will calling or call back lots of
DC's junk for that very reason. NOT JUST VANS!
Just how bad is it that the dealership morons won't even T R Y and fix this
problem? What's it gonna take, people to lay all over the high ways bleeding!!!?
Do I smell "Law Suits" ?
You know I MUST agree with my oldest Son when he said one time that electronics
should NOT be controlling engines and anything to so with safety; ie; HEAD LIGHTS
for one, BRAKES for another.. I'm sure there is more.

RE: How bad is this?
Ok, first The switch is more then likely the problem. Second if the dealer can not verify the concern then they are not to replace anything. This is because usually after the 3rd repair "attemt" the vehicle has the option of buyback, but if they find nothing wrong then it does not count as a repair attempt.
