Have you tried jiggling the keys a bit? We had a similar issue on our 93 Ford Explorer and it worked w/ jiggling the keys. You might have to get a new ignition for it.
Is it parked on a hill? If it's on an incline, the key will be quite hard to turn, but will work if you give a little more pressure. Don't turn it too hard or you might bend the key. Another thought is if the key has an anti-theft chip in it, it might not work properly. In my experience, that only applies once the ignition has been turned on. If the key doesn't carry the proper codes in it, then it turns the vehicle off. If all else fails, you may have to get it checked out at the dealership.
I can help you with your problem! Your lock tumblers arent falling in place. Tap on the end off your key with a screw driver handle. Let me know if that works!
I tried Flexz advice on my Dodge Caravan by tapping the key while it is in the ignition with the handle of a screwdriver and it worked. Thanks Flexz! However the tumblers still get stuck about everytime when I put the key in. Is there some type of grease or lubrication I can use to get them to fall in place?
No Prob. Mine gets stuck all the time too. Still using the Screwdriver. LOL A locksmith quoted me $80 to have it replaced. I'll be interested for sure to see if any lubrication works tho.
